Operating Instructions
Opening and Closing To
open your window, simply turn the locks from the left to the right, and
lift the bottom rail upward. If you would like to open the top part
(sash) of your window, simply pull down on the rail at the top of the
window. When you close your window, make sure that the upper sash (the
top part of the window) is all the way up. If it is not, your window
may not lock properly.

Ventilation Latches Ventilation latches are located on the top sash to prevent the bottom sash from opening more than 4 inches. If your ventilation latches have ridges on them, push them in and up at the same time, and they should pop out at the bottom. If your ventilation latches are flat, pull the bottom of the ventilation latch toward you. Please not that ventilation latches are not standard on all windows.

Washing Double Hung Windows
When washing double hung windows it is very important that the sashes are tilted completely down to avoid the sashes lifting out of the balance shoe. Should the sashes come out of the balance shoe, see the pictures above for instructions.
|
Fire Safety
In the event of a fire, tilt the sash to a perpendicular position to the floor and lift the top and/or bottom sash out for ease of escape.
